Tayleece Paul

Tayleece Paul (she/her) is an associate at the People’s Law Office in Chicago. She first joined the office as a summer intern in 2022 and returned post-graduation to begin her legal career with PLO as a fellow. She is licensed to practice law in Illinois and was raised in Georgia.

Prior to law school, Tayleece organized around mutual aid, criminalization, police brutality, and poverty—work she continued throughout law school.

Tayleece is a graduate of Georgia State University College of Law, where she concentrated on civil and human rights while working with the Davis Bozeman Law Firm and the Southern Center for Human Rights. While in law school, she contributed to a reparations project with the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement in Decatur, Georgia and served as a Stop Cop City Organizing Coordinator with a coalition opposing Cop City. She also participated in mock trial for two years.

At the People’s Law Office, Tayleece focuses on civil rights litigation, including police misconduct, wrongful convictions, and First Amendment violations. She is a member of the National Lawyers Guild, where she supports First Amendment criminal defense work, and a member of Law for Black Lives, where she serves as a Sadie T.M. Alexander Crew Lead.
